The Black leopard project

A story shaped over time, not a moment.

Filmed over multiple years in Laikipia, Kenya, this story follows the relationship between predators, landscape, and community. Built through patience, fieldcraft, and local knowledge, it is a story that could only be told over time.

What began as observation became understanding shaped over time, long periods in the field, and learning behaviour beyond one moment.

Led through 4 years of fieldwork in Laikipia by Wildlife Cinematographer and National Geographic Explorer Clement Kiragu, alongside the rangers, livestock herders and community at Mpala.

Guided by the knowledge of rangers and herders at Mpala, this is a story built from lived experience.
